Job Description Job Description Clinical Director (ABA) Location: St. Louis, MO (in Dogtown NeighborhoodAcross from the Zoo) Reports To: Vice President of Behavioral Services $2,500.00 SIGN ON BONUS Position Summary The Clinical Director serves as the senior on-site clinical leader for the clinic and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and effective Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. This role balances advanced clinical practice with leadership, supervision, and clinical quality assurance, while intentionally excluding administrative and operational responsibilities, which are managed by the Clinic Operations Manager. The Clinical Director is a hands-on clinical leader who models best practices, supports complex clinical decision-making, and maintains a direct connection to clients and staff through targeted clinical involvement. Essential Job FunctionsAdvanced Clinical Practice Conduct initial assessments, reassessments, and diagnostic evaluations, including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and skill-based assessments. Develop, review, and approve treatment plans and behavior intervention plans in accordance with clinical standards and payer requirements. Maintain a limited, high-acuity caseload to remain clinically engaged in direct service delivery. Provide direct clinical intervention and modeling for complex or high-risk cases as needed. Clinical Supervision & Mentorship Provide clinical supervision to Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) in accordance with BACB standards and organizational policies. Deliver ongoing clinical feedback, coaching, and professional development to clinical staff. Support onboarding and clinical training of new BCBAs and RBTs. Address clinical performance concerns in collaboration with the Vice President of Behavioral Services. Clinical Quality & Compliance Monitor treatment integrity and client outcomes to ensure effectiveness and consistency of care. Conduct routine clinical quality audits and chart reviews. Ensure compliance with ethical standards, payer requirements, regulatory guidelines, and organizational policies. Serve as the escalation point for high-risk or complex clinical cases. Leadership & Collaboration Lead clinical team meetings, case reviews, and clinical trainings. Partner with the Lead Remote BCBA to ensure consistency and quality across in-person and remote service delivery models. Collaborate with the Clinic Operations Manager to align clinical priorities with operational workflows and clinic processes. Communicate clinical trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to the Vice President of Behavioral Services. Caseload & Productivity Expectations Maintain a limited caseload focused on complex or high-acuity clients. Billable expectations reflect a clinical leadership role rather than a full-time direct service BCBA position. Productivity expectations will be established and adjusted based on clinical needs, staffing levels, and leadership responsibilities. Qualifications Education & Licensure Master’s degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field. Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing. Eligible for and maintains any required state licensure or credentials. Experience Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience providing ABA services. At least two (2) years of experience in clinical supervision and leadership of BCBAs and RBTs. Demonstrated experience managing complex or high-acuity clinical cases. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced knowledge of ABA principles, assessment methodologies, and behavior intervention strategies. Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills. Ability to exercise independent clinical judgment and decision-making. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong data analysis skills with the ability to drive quality improvement initiatives. Commitment to ethical practice and client-centered care. Physical Demands Ability to work in a clinic-based environment with frequent interaction with clients and staff. Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the clinic and therapy areas. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed for materials or equipment. The most significant duties have been included in this description.
