Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CVICU - Discipline: RN - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel CVICU RN – Level 1 Trauma Center Unit Overview: - 20-bed Cardiovascular ICU - All private, fully monitored rooms - Nurse-driven monitoring Patient Ratios: - 1:1, 1:2, or 2:1 depending on acuity Patient Population: - Post-open heart surgical patients (CABG, valve, CABG/valve, dissections, AAA, vascular, carotids) - Post-cardiovascular procedures - STEMI, unstable angina, NSTEMI - Cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy - Targeted Temperature Management (hypothermia) - Transcutaneous & transvenous pacing - Severe heart failure - TAVRs - Ventilated ICU patients - Overflow ICU patients (including COVID) - Future: Post-VAD placement & post-heart transplant Specialty Equipment & Lines: - IABP, Impella, Swan Ganz, ECMO, external pacemakers, CRRT - PICC, midlines, CVCs, Swans, arterial lines (radial & femoral) Certifications Required: - BLS (AHA) - ACLS preferred - CCRN a plus Experience Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience (more preferred) - Must be able to hit the ground running with no unit-specific training - Strong strip interpretation required - Fast-paced, high-acuity ICU experience required Drips & Titration: - RNs must titrate drips - Common drips include: dopamine, dobutamine, levophed, epinephrine, neosynephrine, vasopressin, cleviprex, propofol, fentanyl, versed, insulin, heparin, esmolol, and others per protocol Staffing & Support: - Charge nurse 24/7 (may take assignments) - House supervisor 24/7 - PCTs available (ratios approx. 1:12–1:15) - CV APNs/PAs and CCS APNs/PAs frequently on unit - Providers on call as needed - Respiratory Therapy in ICU 24/7 - Ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, heated high flow, nitric oxide Telemetry: - Philips monitoring system - Monitor techs available - RNs required to read and interpret their own strips Shift & Scheduling: - 12-hour shifts: - Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM - No self-scheduling - No block scheduling Weekend & Holiday Requirements: - Every other weekend - Days: Saturday & Sunday - Nights: Friday & Saturday - Every other holiday Floating Requirements: - Float to all levels of care - Travelers expected to take a full team Scrubs/Dress Code: - No specific color - Must be professional and appropriate - Scrubs not provided Charting System: - EPIC Cancellation Policy: - Facility may cancel up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment Additional Details: - BSN required: No - License required to submit: No - Trauma Level: 1 - Care setting: Acute About Prime Time Healthcare Nursing Prime Time Healthcare is a leading provider of traveling healthcare professionals nationwide.
