Business Systems Analyst-Consultant is responsible to perform system analysis, and design for software development within the PhysComp (Physician Compensation) system. The business analyst acts as a liaison with business and customer users and the software development/application team(s).

Acts as a subject matter expert/super user of the PhysComp system. Helps develop and maintain PhysComp process documentation. Consultant-level professional experienced in all aspects of business systems analysis. Encompasses full knowledge required within the software development lifecycle with a focus on business workflow and requirements. Typically designs and develops approaches that are implemented by others. Is able to function independently. Provides technical and professional guidance and leadership to peers.

Job Essentials

Maintains advanced level of understanding of application development methodologies, tools and techniques to effectively work with customers / staff to determine needs, specifications, feasibility, priorities for application development requests and projects.

Acquires and maintains an in-depth understanding of the technical and functional architecture, security and compliance requirements of the PhysComp system and integration.

Utilizes appropriate tools to meet complex ad hoc informational needs. Maintains an in-depth understanding of the data model and data use in the PhysComp system.

Documents and recommends workflow changes and technical/functional requirements, specifications and designs solutions (e.g. logical data models, validation rules, screen design, report design, interface design, batch processing design, etc.) needed to support the business requirements for problems with all levels of complexity and according to organizational standards and processes.

Solves issues, incidents, problems at all levels of complexity and according to agreed upon service levels and according to IS standards and processes. Collaboratively works with peers, internal stakeholders.

Collaborates with key business stakeholders to determine business rules, needs, specifications, feasibility, and priorities for application development requests and projects with all levels of complexity and according to organizational standards and processes.

Collaborates with key IS staff in the development, testing, and implementation of solutions with all levels of complexity.

Collaborates with key stakeholders in the development of training and knowledge based materials and in training peers and end-users

Participates, and as assigned, leads the efforts to create and manage project plans for projects at all levels of complexity. Consistently meets agreed upon deadlines or escalates issues, concerns, and barriers to key project leaders. Leads the prioritization of tasks / assignments and manages resource allocations.

Develops and implements communication plans to all stakeholder groups and manages customer and stakeholder expectations.

Coaches and mentors staff on all job essentials, and provides leadership to all areas of the organization in determining best solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Eight years experience providing business systems analyst support using formalized industry-accepted BA techniques and methods to provide.

and -

Bachelor's degree in an information technology related field. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree is verified.

or -

Four years of equivalent information technology, clinical, or healthcare insurance experience.

and -

Understands general concepts of business/healthcare environment, types of information used, how the data is produced, consumed, and transformed.

Experience consistently delivering an extraordinary customer experience when interacting with peers, end-users and others.

Strong written and oral communication skills with spoken English in a technical or healthcare environment.

Good interpersonal skills.

Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

Keen attention to detail.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

and -

Strong customer service orientation.

and -

Experience in a healthcare environment.

Prior experience with the PhysComp system.

Physical Requirements:

Interact with others requiring the employee to verbally communicate information.

and -

Operate computers and other IT equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

and -

See and read computer monitors and documents.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$47.80 - $75.25
