Position of immediate superior: Senior Manager Scheduling & Inventory

Aim / purpose of the job

Why does this position exist, what is expected from it? (one or two sentences max.)

The senior supply chain planner develops production plans supporting the consensus demand plans, leads the supply aspects of the Sales & Operations Planning process for his/her respective products, and drives efficient use of production resources. The senior supply chain planner also generates detailed schedules for production needed to satisfy customer orders and achieve fill rate expectations.

Permanent assignments (to be described according to their order of importance, with the most important first)

Area of accountability no.1: Conversion of Supply Plan into a Detailed Production Schedule

* Main activities:

Responsible for development and maintenance of the production schedule for Finished Goods and Intermediates required to support the supply plan considering production resource limitations as required. Communicate with customer service and supply planning to ensure production schedule supports finished goods on time delivery objectives. Communicates with Production Supervisors, Maintenance, and Engineering to identify and optimize manpower, equipment and facility constraints within the scheduling process Coordinate production plans, purchases, and shipment flow for the products that are send to 3rd party suppliers.

Develops the detailed production schedule for finished goods manufacturing, incorporating customer orders, sales forecasts, resource capabilities, cycle times, and inventory objectives

* Expected results: Completed production schedule that is representative of operating capabilities and supports customer orders and sales forecasts

Area of accountability no.2: Supply Planning

* Main activities:

Generate a long-term (24 month) finished goods production plan for Virbac and 3rd party produced finished goods to support the Sales and Operations Planning process. Incorporate the consensus demand plan, resource capabilities and inventory objectives. Lead the evaluation of issues, risks, and opportunities and drive decisions within the Virbac Sales and Operations Planning process for planner-specific products. Manage the finished goods inventory levels and maintain safety stocks to optimize inventory turns for the business while supporting customer fill rate expectations.

* -Expected results: Completed Family level production plan that supports the Virbac Sales and Operations Planning process and identifies issues, risks and opportunities for the business

Area of accountability no.3: Facilitate Weekly Scheduling Meetings

Main activities:

Coordinate weekly scheduling meeting with the Production Manager(s), Production Supervisor(s), Maintenance Supervisor, and Warehouse Manager to communicate and publish the production schedule and align on resources required to support Develop and maintain methods of tracking and documenting schedule adherence, production progress, load and capacity. Support and incorporate continuous improvement initiatives into Master Production Schedule. Works with R & D, Scale Up, and Operations on new product launches. Monitor schedule adherence and attainment ensuring the on time production of finished goods to support the supply plan

* Expected results: Completed Schedule that is formally documented, published and disseminated for alignment across industrial operations, maintenance, quality assurance, supply planning

Area of accountability no.4: New Product Launches

Main activities:

Collaborate with the Project Management Organization, R&D, TID, and marketing teams to understand forecast requirements for new product launches Generate production schedules and collaborate with the Industrial Operations team to support new product forecasts including load in and launch quantities.

Expected results: Implementation of production schedules that support successful new product launches

JOB TITLE: Sr. Supply Chain Planner

Know-how: job-related skills required to complete activities

Experience in production planning, purchasing, and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate critical information. Goods time management skills. Must be able to work on several projects at one time with minimum supervision. Analytical, organized and drives for success. Comfortable working with detailed data and capable of summarizing information to deliver audience specific key messages. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint. Experience with ERP systems preferred. Languages (specify level): English

JOB TITLE: Sr. Supply Chain Planner

Cross-Functional Relationships : which may impact the job's activities

Will be in constant contact with multiple departments (manufacturing, quality, order management, finance) to keep apprised on topics that will affect the production schedule. Develop relationships with Marketing and Sales to communicate on issues that affect the production plan.

Ability to work in a cross-collaborative way on multiple projects. Ability to be flexible and have the capacity to change.

Optional: Training / Experience necessary to fulfill the job

Educational level or equivalent experience: BA/BS in Supply Chain, Engineering, Science, Business or equivalent.

APICS - CPIM preferred

Total number of years' experience required to fulfil the role: 5 years in supply chain, planning, purchasing or manufacturing.
