Intel's Brand Center of Excellence team, part of the global Brand Strategy and Identity group, is seeking a Senior Brand Naming Strategist to drive believable, relevant, and memorable naming to connect our customers to our growing portfolio of hardware, software, solutions, and services products.
Intel's Brand Strategy and Identity team is comprised of brand experts across Product Brand Strategy, Design, Analysis and Brand Center of Excellence teams that share the common goal of bringing to life one of the most important technology brands on the planet in ways that speak our customers' needs and our goals for the future of the company.
Responsibilities include:



  • Set the standard for exceptionally high-quality naming, architecture, systems, processes, and deliverables to drive the vision and strategy for Intel's branded house of products, corporate initiatives, and branded environments, in coordination with the Brand Center of Excellence Team Lead


  • Partner with the Product Brand Strategy team to drive strategic decisions around new product brand creation, product brand extensions, product brand hierarchy, brand categories and brand segmentation


  • Lead the creative development of naming, nomenclature, and tiering


  • Develop effective presentations with creative naming frameworks, naming narratives, naming profiles, and competitive naming landscapes to drive decision-making across complex stakeholder sets


  • Manage and direct brand naming request fulfillment, project timelines, and queue prioritization with the Brand Center of Excellence brand naming strategists


  • Partner with the Brand Analysis team to develop insights that inform brand naming strategies and validate naming recommendations


  • Help communicate naming strategy to inform the development of effective visual identities with the Brand Design team


  • Collaborate across the Brand Strategy and Identity team to refine and activate brand naming strategic approach to translations, transcreation, and localization


  • Identify and implement process efficiencies that lead to continuous improvement of cross-team collaboration


  • Manage external naming resources, such as naming agencies, when necessary


  • Help train and develop a team of brand-naming strategists


    Desired behavioral skills:


    • Deep understanding of brand naming, name types (descriptive, suggestive, fanciful), naming conventions, and how names fit into an overall brand architecture


    • Builds, and delivers strategic thinking for new and evolving product brands


    • Excellent PowerPoint skills to create compelling presentation decks


    • Influences creative strategy and visual identity systems


    • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills


    • Must be comfortable working with executive-level stakeholders


    • Exceptional project management skills to guide teams through the brand naming process

      You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/ classes/ research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
      Minimum Qualifications:


      • 6+ years of experience in brand marketing or brand strategy, either at a brand or naming agency or on the client side, having primarily worked on brand naming and brand architecture


      • 4+ years of experience working on tech branding and naming, inclusive of software and hardware, across B2C and B2B


        Preferred Qualifications:


        • Proven track record of brand decisions that further strategic goals


        • Demonstrated experience and success in working with cross-functional teams


        • Works equally well in teams and independently

          Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $118,860.00-$196,720.00
          *Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
          Working Model
          This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
