Job Summary DRS Sustainment Systems Inc. is seeking a Full time Project Engineer I -to ensure design compliance with all project requirements. - Project engineers collaborate internally with multi-disciplined teams and are responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a project. - Responsible for the planning and executing for all engineering team activities and will be the primary engineering interface to the other departments internal to DRS and the customer as required during the project. - Job Responsibilities

• Ensure design compliance with all project requirements
• May lead a team of engineers to complete a project or projects
• Review customer specifications and requirements, and may lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable -
• Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
• Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
• Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
• Mentor and coach less-experienced engineers
• Other duties as assigned Job Responsibilities Part II Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Strong experience with Project Planning and Execution
  • Experience leading an engineering team consisting of multiple disciplines
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detailed oriented, highly organized and able to ensure multiple assignments are completed properly and on time
  • Ability to adapt to changing work assignments, schedules, and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) desired
  • Experience with US Defense Acquisition Process - desired
