Boeing's Government Training Engineering (GTE) team is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to support the Aircrew Trainer Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Team in Hazelwood, MO. The selected candidate will be responsible for eliciting customer needs, writing requirements, supporting software development, writing and implementing verification test procedures. The primary result of this role will be to implement the SEIT tasks and responsibilities aligned with the needs identified by program management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate customer and partner needs to define system requirements
  • Document requirements and tasks in Systems Engineering database tools (i.e. DOORS, OSEE)
  • Follow systems engineering standard processes in requirements definition and system architecture development, in a multi-disciplinary team for the design, development, integration and production of multiple training system products.
  • Ensure interface requirements are clearly defined and communicated to relevant teams.
  • Plan and implement integration activities for discrete deliverables to meet program requirements and timelines.
  • Define and perform appropriate validation and verification tests to ensure that the system meets the defined requirements.
  • Perform analysis of Engineering deliverable completions against program needs to assure delivery schedule milestones are met.
  • Develop the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements for management processes, tools, risks, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Experience with Agile development, especially Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar methodologies
  • Experience using Jira and related toolsets
  • Experience in the field of simulation, particularly aircrew (flight) simulators and/or trainers
  • Experience with defense aircraft
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE)
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)This position requires a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
    • 3+ years of Systems Engineering experience writing requirements and executing requirements verification and validation testing
    • Experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects to ensure high quality delivery
    • Experience working with Suppliers, Supply Chain, and Procurement
    • Ability to travel 10% of the time
    • 1+ years experience with Department Of Defense (DOD) contract language and estimating experience Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Typical Education / Experience:

        Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

        Level4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD + related work experience, Master+2 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.)

        Summary pay range:

        Level 3: $97,750 - 132,250

        Level 4: $119,850 - 162,150

To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
