Summary of Role: As a Senior Data Engineer at SunPower, you will build data services and capabilities that increase the amount of solar power produced on our planet every single day. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with experience building data pipelines on cloud-based infrastructure, as well as designing, shaping and transforming data to efficiently answer key questions about our business. Reporting to the SunPower Director of Data Engineering, this engineering role will have significant autonomy in the development and automation of critical datasets for SunPower's business. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: + An ideal candidate will approach their job with empathy, seeking to understand existing systems and practices, and building relationships with teams and team members along the way. This individual will call upon their engineering experience to contribute to technical conversations around technical approach and direction. They believe there are generally multiple ways to solve a problem, and that particular approaches are rarely, if ever, "right" or "wrong". Required Qualifications: + Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent industry experience. + 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering. + Solid data shaping, design and management experience. Understands query and data optimization for ideal performance based on specific use-case. + Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as SQL, Python, Scala, Hive + Ability to dive deep and find gaps that need to be addressed; and effectively identify, communicate and recommend the best available solution to implement. + Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: + Building and Deploying data on AWS, Azure or GCP + Experience with "big data", e.g. Pandas, PySpark, AWS. + Experience with big data/machine learning technologies, concepts, and architectural considerations, including those that utilize AWS technologies. + Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. + Professional traits that are not unique to this position but necessary for SunPower leaders: + Exhibits excellent judgment + Thinks big and has convictions + Delivers results + Has the innate ability to inspire passion in others Don't meet every single requirement?
