Accounts Payable Specialist
Midwest Technical Institute, an established career college with campuses throughout the Midwest and Mississippi Delta region, is seeking a full-time experienced Accounts Payable Specialist which will be located at the Springfield, Illinois Campus.
The primary purpose of this position is to complete the Accounts Payable process from start to finish.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for making sure that all company approval procedures have been followed prior to entering invoices for payment.
Proper coding of invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
Entering all invoices and credit cards into accounting software for payment and make payments in a timely manner.
Interaction with vendors to ensure accurate pricing, procuring additional information for payment approval and dispute resolution.
Assist in analysis of spending patterns.
Assist management with various bookkeeping and administrative projects as assigned.
Effective interaction with individuals at all levels of an organization including senior management.
Qualifications
Three or more years of accounts payable experience.
Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills. -Proficient in working with Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel.
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors. -Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems. -Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
Must be detailed-oriented, organized self-starter, and have the ability to prioritize workload.
Ability to recognize critical situations and immediately take appropriate action.
Ability to consistently meet all deadlines.
