Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space and Security division is seeking a MQ-25 Fuselage Skins Design Lead in Hazelwood, MO.The MQ-25 Air Vehicle team is seeking an Fuselage Skin Design Lead (Level 4) to join the team in Hazelwood, Missouri. The MQ-25 program is working the Engineering and Manufacturing Development of 7 flight vehicles and two full-scale test articles.This position will be responsible for coordinating the engineering design of the fuselage skins for the MQ-25 program. The skins are primarily carbon fiber reinforced composite material. The coordination includes incorporation of required design changes, working with the part supplier and assembly team to support the build, and assist in disposition on non-conformances.Candidates should be familiar with the engineering Model Based Design release process, composite material definition in computer-aided design software, and structural use of composite materials. Candidates should have competencies in problem solving abilities, analytical skills, structural design/analysis, project management and proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Candidates must be technically proficient, proactive, team-oriented, and possess strong communication skills.Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Participate in trade studies to address any design changes or address issues for fuselage skins.
  • Report status, progress, and risks to program management.
  • Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Leads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
  • Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Works under minimal direction.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
    • Experience creating, refining, and evaluating structural concepts for air vehicles
    • 3+ years of experience with Model-Based Engineering
    • 1+ years of experience with composite material engineering definitionPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • Strong project management skills
      • Experience working with Full Size Determinant Assembly
      • Experience working on a Navy program, or with NAVAIR customers
      • Experience working with other engineering disciplines on design integrationsTypical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
