We are seeking an experienced Box Truck Driver / Warehouse Operations Specialist for local deliveries within a 100 mile radius of the greater St. Louis Metro area. This is a day shift position (6am-2:30pm), Monday through Friday, occasional overtime daily, No Weekends. Responsibilities Delivers company products to customers in a courteous manner ensuring customer satisfaction and using time management skills to efficiently complete deliveries and pick-ups. Possesses or is able to obtain a DOT medical card and MO Class E License. Complies with all safety regulations and policies through DOT and the company. Is able to carefully load and unload large and heavy products (windows and doors) to and from truck by hand, lifting up to 125lbs. Deliver company products without deviation from the predetermined route Advise Operations Manager, Delivery Coordinator or Warehouse Lead of all vehicle or delivery problems Inspect vehicle daily and report any deficiencies to management Operate all vehicles safely and in accordance with state, local and federal DOT regulations Complete drivers daily log Complete all paperwork associated with delivery, noting discrepancies and collecting COD payment as required. Review all paperwork at the end of each shift with Operations Manager, Delivery Coordinator, or Warehouse Lead, and bring any discrepancies to his/her attention Load trucks as scheduled, securing all products and accessories in order to eliminate shipping damage and / or delivery errors Unload truck at site in accordance with all company policies and procedures Notify appropriate personnel immediately of any and all traffic violations, accidents or injuries Assist Receiving as needed. Scan all incoming product to designated locations Unload products from vendors and properly distribute products either to work-in-process or stock Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, lifts, and carts to distribute and move product Assist Operations Dept. with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the warehouse following 5s procedures Other duties as needed Skills/Knowledge Experience driving a straight truck (GVWR Clean driving Record and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certificate & MO Class E License required. Dependable and regular attendance Ability to load and unload large and heavy products (windows, doors, etc.) by hand, lifting up to 125lbs, assisting with 2-3 man deliveries pushing product up to 450lbs Excellent customer service skills Ability to comply with all state, local, and federal regulations Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly. Adapts to changes in the work environment: Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events Ability to read street signs, follow directions and have a general knowledge of the greater St. Louis, MO / IL area Must be able to read, write and speak English clearly Pella performs background checks and federal drug screens on all candidates.
