effort, the Object Storage Service team is looking for hands-on
engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems
in distributed systems, large scale storage, and scaling services

As a technical leader, you will own the software design and
development for major components and features of the Object Storage
Service. You should be a strong programmer and a distributed
systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack
and low level systems, as well as design broad distributed system
interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work
comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited
to learn.

Development
As a Consulting Member of Technical Staff, you will be called upon
to lead major projects and have significant participation in design
and architecture. You will be expected to act as a technical leader
on your team and demonstrate core values for other more junior
engineers. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed
systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack
and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system
interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work
comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited
to learn.
To succeed with these responsibilities will require:
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or
related field.
10+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly
available distributed systems.
Storage knowledge is a plus.
Cloud experience is a plus.
Proven experience with a major Object Oriented Programming language
such as Java or C++.
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems,
and distributed systems fundamentals.
Very strong knowledge of databases, storage and distributed
persistence technologies.
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to
account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market
conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing
products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the
preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible

three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years
of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working
between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20
hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire.
Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each
year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
