Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join the Mission Systems & Autonomy Advanced Learning Team based out of either Saint Louis MO, Saint Charles MO, or Berkeley MO. Occasional travel is a requirement of this position.The team is looking for a highly motivated career Software Engineer who also possesses knowledge of Modeling and simulation, and can develop Advanced Learning technologies for internal and external customers.- The selected individual will be working on cutting edge technology for aircrew training focusing on the fusion of Live platforms within a Virtual and Constructive synthetic environment (LVC) for tactical aviation. The position entails product development, prototyping, integration, test, delivery, and demonstration to the customer. Successful candidates should be familiar with networking of disparate simulation systems, various programming languages, and distributed simulation systems, as well as having a strong understanding of tactical fighter mission systems architecture and avionic subsystems.- Experience with live training range systems and infrastructure is a bonus. The individual should also have experience with object oriented design, integration and test experience, and be comfortable working with the customer.- Since this is an R&D environment the individual should be able to work with minimal direction under varying and sometimes loose requirements with a focus on innovation and the art of the possible.- ----Position Responsibilities:

  • General requirements include developing, documenting, and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.-
  • The individual is expected to develop, test, integrate, and maintain code and software components into fully functional systems.-
  • A successful individual will also develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.-
  • He or She may also serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
  • The individual will perform software project management and software supplier management functions to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Bachelors of Science or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
    • Experience working with C/C++ / JAVA / xml
    • Experience working with Microsoft Visual StudioPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • Occasional travel is a requirement of this position.
      • Experience working with modeling and simulation, and can develop Advanced Learning technologies for internal and external customers
      • Experience with real-time simulation
      • Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) /High Level Architecture (HLA) protocol experience
      • Experience with embedded processing systems
      • Experience with data links, crypto, trusted guards, multi-level security
      • Experience with cloud-based computingTypical Education/Experience:-Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
