POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Partner Employee Relations will serve as a subject matter
expert and manage employee relations on behalf of the company.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations in acting on
employee complaints and grievances, workers' compensation, leaves,
unemployment claims, FMLA, and termination requests. Showing
employees care while acting as an employee advocate and supporting
consistent agency policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements and administers human resource policies and
practices that ensure the Company's compliance with EEOC, federal,
state, and local employment laws by staying informed about pending
and current legislation.
- Conduct prompt and thorough investigations into sensitive
employee relations issues, and make objective recommendations based
on findings. This includes conducting investigatory interviews,
collecting/reviewing relevant evidence, writing investigation
reports, and delivering debriefs with relevant
stakeholders.
- Interviews, and other studies to conduct research regarding
human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues
to make informed recommendations on changes.
- Coach managers on how to appropriately manage and resolve
moderately complex ER issues and educate them on policies,
procedures, and compliance
- Ensures compliance with labor law posters and posters are
appropriately posted at all locations.
- Leads all functions of workers' compensation program, including
claim evaluation/investigation and establishing action
plans.
- Leads all functions of leaves of absence. Track and report on
leaves of absence, and integrate with HRIS to ensure the accuracy
of payroll transactions.
- Provide training to Leaders to ensure current with agency leave
and disciplinary policies and procedures. Maintain templates and
forms, and assist Director with the implementation of policies for
new and revised policies, such as Covid-19 compliance.
- Maintains unemployment process, prepares responses,s and
schedules hearing with the manager.
- Serve as the point of contact for all agency accommodation
requests, including those related to the workplace and work
environment for all employees, conditions of employment (e.g.,
remote work requests related to disability or illness), and other
accommodations.
- Responsible for reporting to EEOC and overseeing external
investigations of current and former employees.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning
labor relations.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate
sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances,
and policies.
- Thorough understanding of negotiation techniques.
- Thorough understanding of dispute resolution.
- Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in
controversial and/or confrontational situations.
- Organized and detail-oriented with an emphasis on
accuracy.
- Ability to function as a team member while remaining
professional, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
- Strong organizational development skills
- Advanced knowledge of employment practices
- Continuously stays up to date with new and changing legislation
and company policies
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Associate degree from an accredited institution
- At least two years of applicable experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must possess and maintain proof of vehicle insurance
CARE & TCI
One of the essential job functions of any position within the
agency is to align your performance with our overarching philosophy
of CARE. All decisions, actions, communication, and performance
should align with the six CARE principles (Developmentally Focused,
Family Involved, Relationship Based, Ecologically Oriented,
Competence Centered, and Trauma Informed). Not only must you
complete the CARE training with satisfactory participation, but you
must then put that training into practice in your everyday
work.
Every employee must also pass TCI training with a satisfactory
grade in written and/or physical testing. All employees must remain
current on refresher training that is provided monthly at all
locations. You will be tested every 6 months on the physical
portion, if applicable to your position. You will be tested
annually on the written portion, regardless of your position. If
you are not current on your TCI refresher training every six
months, you will be required to retake the full course. If you do
not pass either test, you may be required to retake the full
course.Not only must you complete the TCI training with
satisfactory participation, but you must then put that training
into practice in your everyday work.
