Job Description:
Overview This is for an Experienced RN only >2yr Cardiac
experience or Inpatient experience preferred Position Highlights:
Number of beds on unit: 18 Patient population (age, diagnosis,
specifics about unit): 18 years and old. Cardiac arrhythmia, Chest
pain, CHF, Pacemakers, Ablations, Heart attacks (MI), and Cardiac
interventions. Nurse to Patient ratio: 1:4-5 Department culture and
resources: CVCU is a fast paced, high patient turnover unit. We
admit and d/c multiple patients each day. The department culture is
focused on teamwork, ensuring that patients’ needs are met working
closely with interdisciplinary partners. Resources: Charge nurse,
Heart failure nurse, cardiac rehab, case manager/social work,
respiratory and pharmacy. Frequent nursing skills/equipment used:
Nursing skills: Assessment, IV, managing cardiac drips, post
procedure care, discharge teaching and completing admissions.
Equipment: IV pumps, SCD machines, Bedside monitors, cardiac
monitoring, oxygen, ambulation equipment, lift equipment. The staff
Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes
responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame
and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the
nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human
resources within the philosophy of the institution. Qualifications
Certifications: Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) -
Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

(IDFPR); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year -

Diploma/GED; Associate's Degree, Work Experience: Responsibilities
Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as
specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and
theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains
up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to
assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare
team.Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and
develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards
and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of
care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies
plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.Takes responsibility
for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting
safety hazards and incidents.Communicates with others directly and
in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive
feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and
confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own
learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate
solution.Fulfills all requirements of departmental
competencies.Maintain clean and tidy work environment. Maintain
hospital and unit based competencies. Hourly Rounding on patients.

Benefits The compensation range for this position is $33.32per hour
- $57.31per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum
range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The
actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a
variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s
experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts
