Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Illinois, requiring an active IL RN license and strong orthopedic experience. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit within an acute care Level I trauma center - Ortho cases with consideration for Med/Surg RNs who have good orthopedic experience - Night shifts of either 3x12 or 4x12 hours (18:45-06:45) - Required to work every third weekend - Floating to other Med/Surg departments within scope may be required - Cerner charting system is used on the unit - Responsible for providing care to a varied Med/Surg and orthopedic patient population - Magnet-designated hospital environment - No on-call requirements for this position - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - No restrictions for local candidates - RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days - Any solid color scrubs are permitted - Parking provided at no cost with permit obtained during orientation /n /n Requirements/n - Active Illinois RN license required at the time of application - Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred - Telemetry experience preferred - IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required, including PICC line management and starting IVs - Previous travel nurse experience preferred - Cerner EMR experience is preferred /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-659301.
