Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: MRI Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 11/24/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and strong abdominal, pelvis, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal MRI skills. Responsibilities - Position is at an acute care, Level I trauma, Magnet hospital - Work in the MRI Tech department on a 13-week contract - Evening shift, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 to 19:30, Friday through Sunday - Handles a variety of cases including abdomen, pelvis, cardiovascular, chest, head/neck, musculoskeletal, spine, and special imaging procedures - Uses Cerner EMR, prior Cerner experience is required - On-call is required as needed - Must work weekends and holidays as department needs arise - No floating required outside of the MRI tech scope - Locals accepted with no distance radius - Performs advanced MRI exams across multiple body systems including CINE, diffusion, gradient echo, maximum intensity projection, multiplanar reconstruction, perfusion, peripheral MRA, spin echo, and surface coil studies - Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment - Solid color scrubs are required - Parking permit provided at no cost after completing orientation paperwork - All non-licensed allied clinicians must arrive early to complete fingerprinting - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - No more than 5 days of requested time off allowed without facility approval - Permanent or PRN employees must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler Requirements - Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience required - Active Illinois state license required at the time of application; license required if applicable - ARRT-MR certification preferred - Must have specific experience in abdominal, pelvis, cardiovascular, chest, head/neck, musculoskeletal, and spine MRI procedures - Experience with Cerner charting system required - Level I trauma center experience preferred - Must be in Illinois 3 business days prior to compliance due date for fingerprinting requirements Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628249.
