Pay Information $2,362 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Oncology Specialty Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience License: State RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) Must-Have: ASN Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients via the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources. Essential functions include performing all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service. The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care is essential to assure integration of information for the healthcare team. The RN completes the initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs. Implementing the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures is a core responsibility. The RN modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Taking responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents is vital. The RN communicates directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. Offering constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers is encouraged. The RN confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base. Identifying personal learning needs and taking initiative to address them is expected. Fulfilling all requirements of departmental competencies is required. Department specific job functions include performing patient care duties such as head-to-toe assessments, starting IVs, and administering medications. Additional responsibilities include assisting with procedures, providing emotional support to patients and their families, and administering chemotherapy/biotherapy. Maintaining documentation standards is necessary to ensure compliance with chart audits.
