Job Description:
Overview
The Electrophysiology (EP) Registered Radiologic Technologist will
scrub, record, monitor and/or circulate diagnostic and complex
electrophysiology procedures including EP studies, Catheter
Ablations, and device implants (PPM &ICDs).
The Registered Radiologic Technologist is a professional care giver
who assumes responsibility of patients for a designated time frame
and to provide care, specifically in the Invasive Lab. The patient
population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or
invasive radiology study. The Registered Radiologic Technologist
will assist the physician in all procedures and provide a valuable
service to the patient and the team.
Qualifications
License/Certifications:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year - American Heart
Association (AHA); Registered in Radiography (R) - American
Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Basic Life Support
(BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed
Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency
Management Agency (IEMA)
Education:
Associate's Degree: Radiologic Technology

Responsibilities
Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to
physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing
venipuncture and placing IV line; recognizes and responds to
hypersensitivity or allergic reactions. Anticipates set-up and
needs for invasive procedures. Assists with inventory/supplies.
Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and
treatment position. Compiles pertinent clinical information
pertaining to lab, pathology, etc. Administers medication in
compliance with scope of practice. Documents accurately and
completely. Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient
care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
Performs all essential functions of the Invasive Lab Radiologic
Technologist. Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts
as assigned to meet department needs. Required to float to all
procedural areas. Maintains a clean and neat work area.
Demonstrates competence in the operation of imaging, physiological
monitoring, and related equipment; Performs basic troubleshooting
for this equipment. Able to work around and maintain a sterile
field during procedures. Administers and with holds contrast and
treatment as appropriate. Assess patients for allergies. Function
as a scrub and monitor technician on a rotating basis during
procedures. Assists physician during interventional procedures.
Able to take call after 6 months of orientation.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $30.72per hour -
$52.84per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum
range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The
actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a
variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's
experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts
