Job Description:
Memorial Health is seeking a travel Radiology Technician for a
travel job in Decatur, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed
below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required.
Knowledge of sterile technique, and ability to perform multiple
tasks at once. Ability to use independent judgment. Ability to
perform tasks for a long period of time. Must have current CPR
card.
MIT Program Requirements Minimum of 3 years' experience practicing
in specialty being considered for Minimum of 1 year experience
traveling in specialty being considered for Must be willing to flex
between any of Memorial Health Affiliate locations (mid assignment
or upon accepting extension of assignment) Must be willing to work
every other weekend and any Holiday that is observed over the
course of assignment
Education and/or Other Requirements
Graduate of approved School of Radiologic Technology; Registered
radiographer (ARRT-R) in good standing or registry eligible. If not
otherwise specified by the professional licensing body, the maximum
allowable time to practice in a registration pending status is
three months. Active license required in radiography from the IEMA
Division of Nuclear Safety. Must maintain educational requirements
for State licensure and ARRT registration. Maintain BLS CPR
Certification.
Environmental Factors
Occasional exposure to moderate environmental variations,
above-normal noise levels, and/or unpleasant substances. Daily
exposure to hazardous or potentially injurious elements or
conditions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job.
Moderate to heavy physical exertion, standing 80% of the time,
frequent bending and reaching (80 inches from the floor) and
occasional lifting and carrying of loads (5 to 75 pounds). Must be
able to assist average-sized person (150 pounds) to and from X-ray
table, etc., in normal course of work; upon occasion must be able
to support average person for approximately two minutes.
Mental Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able
to work under stress and adapt to changing conditions.
Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
Essential Functions and Job Duties
Performs all surgical imaging procedures (portable, c-arm, uroview,
orthomedical) according to department standards and procedures.
Performs non-vascular special procedure exams secondary to surgical
services. Performs routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
according to department policy and procedures. Updates patient
examination history files.
Enters data into computer system.
Utilizes interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively
with Surgical Staff and Surgeons.
Consults with supervisors, Radiologist, or ordering physician as
necessary to provide appropriate patient care.
Maintains thorough knowledge of surgical radiographic equipment and
radiation safety.
Manages time to perform multiple surgical procedures occurring at
the same time.
Adheres to all safety precautions for patients and self.
Remains flexible in accepting rotating schedules.
Maintains clean, neat and orderly work area; maintains appropriate
supply levels. Follows IDPH compliance guidelines when entering the
operating room suites.
Works well with employees; treats patients with respect and
confidentiality.
Identifies life-threatening conditions; implements life-sustaining
actions.
Processes patients and coordinates multiple examinations with other
sections of the department; enters patient charge data and performs
other data entry.
Assists in instruction of students in assigned area.
Performs other duties as assigned. Is authorized to access contrast

and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free
