Engineering is seeking a Specialty Engineering Manager -
Reliability, Maintainability and Systems Health in Berkeley,
Missouri . - This engineering management position will be
responsible for leading the Reliability, Maintainability, & System
Health (RM&SH) engineering team that provides technical
expertise for BDS - Phantom Works programs as well as leading the
BDS RM&SH Digital Transformation. The selected candidate will
provide leadership for Proprietary Tactical Fighter systems, as
well as other projects and development programs. Position
Responsibilities The ideal candidate will develop and maintain
relationships and partnerships with customers, program leadership,
peers, and direct reports as well as providing oversight and
approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Lead the RM&SH engineering team to ensure accurate and
timely support and submittal of related deliverables for Phantom
Works programs.
- Lead the strategy development and execution of RM&SH
Digital Transformation (DTx), including Model Based Engineering
(MBE) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities.
- Engage with BDS program leadership to identify and prioritize
model-based capability development.
- Acquire, deploy and schedule personnel to meet .
- Manage, develop and motivate employees
- Help to define and maintain the operating rhythm for the
RM&SH capability
- Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities
and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand
capabilities
- Promote employee recognition and build a departmental culture
that improves employee satisfaction and retains a skilled and
motivated workforce.
- Establish partnerships and relationships with BDS capability
functions, Program Leadership, and Customers
- Support BDS RM&SH Engineering Capability workforce
initiatives and coordination with Enterprise RM&SH
Leadership
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving
skills
- Demonstrate strong work ethic and sense of urgency for
completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments
- Highly motivated and must work well in a team environment
Willingness to travel as required for role (travel should not
exceed 10% of the time). This position is hybrid. The selected
candidate will be required to perform onsite with the ability to
work remotely 20% of the time. This can potentially change in the
future dependent on management discretion. This position requires
the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US
Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S.
Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications
(Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelors degree or higher in engineering or a science related
field
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering related role
- 1+ years' experience leading diverse multi-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Active U.S. Security Clearance
- Previous experience with Reliability, Maintainability & System
Health analysis
- Knowledge of System Modeling Language (SysML) and tools (Cameo
/ MSOSA, Rhapsody, etc.)
- Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
- Previous experience with tactical fighters and early
development programs
- Previous experience in Management Relocation: This position is
located in a location that does not offer relocation. - Candidates
must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
