13 week assignment 7 pm to 730 am
Requires 2 years experience ASAP start
General job duties and types of procedures required:
Nurses care for post-op cardiac, pulmonary, vascular and thoracic surgery patients and families, including Lung Volume Reduction Surgery and esophagectomy patients. Shares the cardiac procedural patients with 6E namely: post cath, stent, ablation, pacemaker patients. Many patients have co morbidities in addition to a primary cardiac diagnosis. All beds have on-site telemetry monitoring. Many opportunities for assessments, teaching, IVs, dressings, analysis of laboratory values and medication administration and management. 32 beds

Equipment utilized in the unit/department:
Computerized charting - Cerner (preferred), Bedside Barcode Medication Administration

Required skills and minimum years of experience:
Experience must include: medical cardiac and surgical cardiac patients, care of post op cath patients. At least 1 year experience required. Tele skills, ability to titrate vasoactive IV meds. Will also need to be flexible to assist with staffing on other cardiac units.

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:
Illinois RN license required to submit, BLS and ACLS (preferred) are required certifications

Shift or schedule requirements:
Every Other weekend is expected. Shift to be determined at the time of the request. 36 hours per week
