As a member of the Department of Neurology at SIU SOM, the incumbent will represent the Department in a manner to enhance its patient care, educational, and research mission. This faculty member reports to the Chair of Neurology and Director of the Division of Vascular Neurology. With this position, there are leadership opportunities available. The neurology department is well known for its innovative research and clinical therapeutics. SIU SOM is affiliated with Memorial Medical Center and St. John's Hospital, serving the central and southern Illinois communities with a catchment area of over one million people. The incumbent will serve as a member of the inpatient stroke team at Memorial Medical Center and participate in neurology weekend call at both hospitals, Memorial Medical Center and St. John's Hospital.Highlights of the position and area include: Developing and maintaining a vascular neurology practice which includes tertiary activities in the treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of stroke patients. Work with other members of the stroke team in the development of a Comprehensive Stroke Center at Memorial Medical Center and tele-stroke program.
