For more information, please visit Alkermes website at . The Hospital Business Leader (HBL) will be responsible for the leadership of a team of Hospital Business Managers (HBM). In this role, the HBL will be responsible for leading a team of representatives to drive access and sales of the current and future Alkermes portfolio in key in-patient institutional settings of care (i.e. Hospitals) within a given geography. Reporting to the National Director of Institutional Accounts, this role will work closely with our Regional and District Sales Leaders, Key Account Managers, and local Territory Business Managers in the execution of our sales strategy across multiple channels. The candidate must have proven success in building and leading regional teams to deliver results in major hospitals and systems that focus on the treatment of patients suffering from various types of serious mental illness, namely schizophrenia, addiction and major depression. In this leadership role, key attributes necessary for success will be the ability to coach, inspire and motivate a high performing, results oriented team, possess a strategic perspective on managing business opportunities and as needed, execute efficient performance management practices. Candidates must also demonstrate an ability to collaborate with multiple cross-functional partners including but not limited to Sales, Managed Markets, Marketing, Trade, and State and Federal Policy teams. Key_Responsibilities_Include * Leading and coaching teams focused on key Hospitals * Implementation and deployment of key personnel that ensures optimal coverage of the largest and most influential in-patient accounts within a defined geographic area * Establish and leverage strong internal partnerships with Senior Regional Directors, District Business Leaders and Territory Business Manager. * Build transition of care from in-patient to out-patient sites that drives optimal patient outcomes * Implementation of sales and marketing plans within the hospital setting of care to exceed sales objectives * Develop a deep understanding of assigned district-level geography, including patterns of care, major payers and public policy initiatives * Ensure cross-functional alignment of key strategies and tactics, and ensure effective communication and implementation at the territory level * Review and analyze key reports to ensure quarterly and annual objectives are met. * Foster innovation in sales approaches and practices and ensure effective cross-functional leadership and collaboration with managed markets and state government affairs counterparts * Manage district-level expenses * Exercise sound judgment and ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities and communications * Collaborate with Key Account Manager on targets that fall under the covered National Systems of Care (i.e. IDNs, hospital systems, etc.) * Acts as the primary point of contact with C-suite decision makers and influences that are not covered by Key Account Managers. * Minimum_Education_&_Experience_Requirements * Bachelor s degree (BS/BA) required, advanced degree a plus * 7-10 years of proven experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals industry with 4-5+ years management experience leading representatives in complex hospital environments * Launch experience leading others in highly complicated and competitive environments with specific experience in the build-out of new teams and structures * Proven launch experience leading others in highly complicated and competitive environments * Demonstrated success working cross-functionally * Proven performance as evidenced by their ability to lead teams to sales quota attainment and overall sales growth * In-depth understanding of reimbursement/insurance coverage for physician- administered treatments * Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments * Core competencies include but are not limited to: o Highly ethical standards o Strong people leadership/management skills o Excellent account management skills Ability to effectively collaborate across multiple functions o Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments o Strong verbal and written communication skills o Strong analytical skills * Valid driver s license * Ability to travel up to 50-70% * Preferred_Qualifications * Experience in CNS, with specific experience in mental health (schizophrenia, addiction, depression) * Demonstrated successful experience across multiple functions (sales, sales leadership, managed markets, marketing) * Demonstrated passion for improving CNS/mental health patient care * Entrepreneurial attitude and/or experience in a start-up environment * Ability to work autonomously to find new business opportunities * Alkermes, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any applicant because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression and identity, national origin, ancestry, age, mental and physical disability, genetic information, any veteran status, military status or application for military service, or membership in any other category protected under applicable law.
