opportunities Position Overview The Quality Manager (Civil)
interfaces with engineering, construction, management, clients, and
client inspectors to address quality-related concerns across civil,
electrical, mechanical, structural, and industrial/commercial
subcontracts. Implements quality assurance/quality control programs
for the Company. Receives owner, manufacture and engineering
quality requirements and applies them to the project. Supports
planning, development and implementation of vendor surveillance
activities for procured items. Manages third party inspection
service for bolting, welding, nondestructive testing, concrete
testing, soil inspections and others as required. Interprets
engineering drawings, specifications and code requirements and
ensures that the contractors have all the required quality plans,
procedures and certifications Performs inspections within field of
expertise. Interfaces with clients through client surveys at the
start, during and at the end of jobs. Interfaces with third party
inspection services per client inspection requirements. Documents
inspections and related quality control activities. Performs random
jobsite audits to assure conformance to AISC, ASME and project
specifications. Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC)
Develops and maintains effective QA/QC programs and procedures
tailored to specific project requirements. Conducts thorough
surveillance and audits of subcontractor quality programs,
identifying compliance gaps and providing solutions. Reviews
supplier quality requirements effectively and ensures they are
incorporated them into project submittal registry and schedule.
Develops and executes programs to inspect materials and
vendor-supplied items, ensuring adherence to project
specifications. Develops and implements high-level vendor
surveillance strategies to proactively mitigate risks and optimize
procurement outcomes. Coordinates with Project team members to
integrate owner, manufacturer, and engineering requirements into
project execution plans. Design and Problem-Solving Applies
structured approaches to identify design flaws and propose
well-reasoned, cost-effective solutions that align with project
goals. Develops clear, compliant documentation of solutions to
operational and design challenges, ensuring traceability.
Engineering Compliance Demonstrates a high level of proficiency in
interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and codes,
ensuring all work adheres to quality plans, standards, and
certification requirements. Implements robust systems to verify
compliance, ensuring adherence to the highest industry standards
and certifications. Construction Oversight and Reporting Develops,
manages, and conducts an effective surveillance program of
construction activities and ensures detailed, actionable field
reports are prepared. Expertly coordinates complex third-party
inspections, ensuring seamless execution of critical testing and
reporting requirements. Facilitates the procurement of third-party
resources by preparing detailed project requirements and evaluating
proposals for alignment with project objectives, budget, and
timeline. Conducts comparative analysis of proposals to recommend
the most suitable option based on project needs. Oversees the
review and validation of third-party inspection service invoices,
implementing streamlined processes and controls to ensure billing
accuracy and adherence to contractual obligations. Provides
strategic insights into invoice trends and financial performance,
proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining
service quality. Team Guidance and Collaboration Provides effective
guidance to teams and stakeholders, fostering collaboration to
address quality challenges. Analyzes schedules systematically to
ensure quality requirements align with project milestones. Leads
teams in the development and implementation of continuous
improvement initiatives and aligns quality efforts with
organizational objectives. Management Responsibilities Manages
direct reports as assigned. Effectively hires, trains, coaches,
disciplines, and develops employees to achieve and maintain
positive working relationships within the department. Achieves
desired results through effective leadership and appropriate
influence while adhering to established policies and procedures.
Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s
degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
and a minimum of ten years of comparable experience; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Civil (earthworks and
concrete) self-perform QC experience is strongly preferred.
Candidates may permanently reside anywhere in the US but must will
be willing to travel to project locations anywhere across North
America for extended periods of time (up to 85%). Growth
