Job DescriptionWork with a world class team to develop, implement, and support cutting edge Oracle technology.Leads a small team maintaining and/or implementing software project(s) or support system(s). Defines, documents and manages scope and manage daily activities of staff.Coordinates the daily activities of a work group, setting priorities to ensure task completion. Provides technical/functional leadership as well as first line supervision, but does not have hire/fire authority. Interacts daily with staff and/or functional peer groups in the presentation of factual information. Good knowledge of the relevant applications area important. BA/BS degree preferred.ResponsibilitiesThe Bear institute at Childrens National Health System is seeking a Storage Engineer responsible for being a hands-on administrator of multiple storage systems and backups. Backups we will require skills in Rubrik, offsite backup and cloud backups and restores. Hands on responsibility for Isilon Storage, Dell EMC Vplex and power store. Knowledge of AWS cloud storage and backup a must. Emphasis on security of backups , documentation, and detailed testing. Experience with Datacenter colocation and Cloud storage preferred. As a Storage Engineer, you will provide system implementation, support, monitoring, and maintenance of Oracle Cerner s solutions and services. You will perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability as well as perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, and resource optimization. You will also be responsible for implementing and monitoring applications and servers, respond to alarms in a timely manner to prevent client impact and performance degradation. As a member of this team, you will manage changes and project activities while communicating with impacted stakeholders. This includes developing and deploying automation tools to optimize daily activities and complete assigned incident management tasks. In addition, you will deploy, setup, as well as maintain testing environment. Finally, you will also be responsible for providing tier III and other support per service requests.Basic Qualifications

  • At least 6 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
  • At least 1 year system administration and/or system engineering work experience
  • At least 5 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experiencePreferred Qualifications
    • SNIA Certified Storage Architect (SCSA) - Storage Networking Industry Association
    • SNIA Certified Storage Networking Expert (SCSN-E) - Storage Networking Industry Association
    • Experience with Pure Storage
    • Experience with Rubrik Backup Configuration
    • Experience with Dell / EMC Isilon and storage platforms
    • Experience with multiple different disaster recovery methodologies.
    • Experience with storage area networks, NAS and Virtual SANs
    • Experience with VMware productsExpectations
      • Create and maintain operational documentation
      • Participate in after hours on-call rotation for problem alerts
      • Configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting for EMC Storage and Switches, Cisco SAN switches.
      • Linux host configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting related to storage.
      • Experience supporting servers in an enterprise-class datacenter scripting/automating server/client maintenance
      • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
      • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
      • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
      • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
