For more information, please visit: www.guidehouse.com.ResponsibilitiesThe Cyber Security Engineer Senior Consultant is responsible for supporting all cybersecurity requirements, compliance and awareness related efforts for a major TRANSCOM program. These responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Participate in acquisition program engineering milestone reviews, system requirements review, design reviews, test readiness reviews, operational readiness reviews, incident report working group, change working groups, and configuration control boards.
  • Coordinate with the acquisition program development contractor, security and system engineers, program personnel, government system engineers, ISSM, and USTRANSCOM/DISA Security Office to resolve and address security issues impacting program development.
  • Provide support to ensure cyber and information systems are designed, developed, and deployed IAW applicable Executive Orders, Federal Policy, DOD regulations, USTRANSCOM requirements, and commercial best practices.
  • Conduct, participate in, and evaluate security testing activities, security assessments, and audits.
  • Evaluate security analysis and assessments provided by contract developers.
  • Perform source code security scans using government-approved security tools and any government issued configuration standards for those security tools.
  • Identify and maintain an accurate accounting of software security vulnerabilities and provide reports breaking out vulnerabilities by severity level.
  • Plan and review security lockdown and hardening of servers and network devices.
  • Support coordination of overall security strategy with multiple agencies, designated approval authorities, authorizing officials, representatives, and vendors.
  • Validate privilege user system accounts as needed by primary Information System Security Officer.
  • Recommend changes to network and security architecture for the purposes of improving security posture and meeting operational performance requirements.QualificationsQualifications - Required
    • Minimum Degree Required: BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field.
    • Minimum Years of Experience Required: 4-8 years of experience in Cyber Security Engineering
    • Five (5) or more years of direct Cybersecurity compliance related experience.
    • Five (5) or more years of experience in a Cybersecurity or Information Security role
    • SECRET Security ClearanceQualifications - Desired
      • CISSP - Info Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP).
      • High-level understanding of IT systems, networking technology, vulnerability management and familiarity with cyber threat intelligence is a plus
      • Experience leading a team of cybersecurity professionals is a plus.
