Orchard Farm School District is seeking substitute teachers to join our district! Substitute teachers are a vital part of the district, ensuring students receive quality instruction to achieve the learning objective while a teacher is absent. Our mission is to empower each learner to excel in diverse communities. REIMBURSEMENT AVAILABLE FOR SUBSTITUTE CERTIFICATE An individual who holds this position is required to: Delivering group and/or individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines as assigned by classroom teacher or building administrator. Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment. Models conversation, manners, cleanup activities, listening skills, etc. for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social and interpersonal behavior. Monitors students in a variety of educational environments for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment. Reports incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining the personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code and school policies. Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution. Working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods. Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 36 approved college credit hours OR completed the 20 hour DESE approved Substitute Training Courses Missouri substitute teaching certificate or valid Missouri teaching certificate - required Job-related experience is required Cleared FBI Fingerprinting and Family Care Safety Registry Background required Resume, copy of unofficial transcripts (if applicable), and copy of certification (if applicable) 3 references - ensure updated email address/phone number Information regarding Missouri Teacher Certification or Substitute Certification may be obtained at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website: www.dese.mo.gov ASK ABOUT OUR REIMBURSEMENTS FOR SUBSTITUTES including the DESE 20 hour course GET REIMBURSED FOR YOUR NEW SUBSTITUTE CERTIFICATE ACTIVATION COST! After you have worked for the district 3 full-days, teaching/paraprofessional positions, turn in your receipts to human resources for reimbursement. (Reimbursement includes: substitute certification application fee* ($50) and background screening fee for OFSD ($44.75)) *Original application fee must be within 30 days of hire notice, will not reimburse on-going or renewal certificate fees Substitute holding a Missouri Substitute Certificate: Rate of pay: $125.00 a day ($133.00 a day in Early Learning Center only) Rate of pay after 10 days: $135.00 a day ($143.00 a day in Early Learning Center only) *Long Term Assignment rate of pay: $165.00 a day ($173.00 in Early Learning Center only) Substitute holding a Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate: Rate of pay: $150.00 a day ($158.00 a day in Early Learning Center only) Rate of pay after 10 days: $160.00 a day ($168.00 a day in Early Learning Center only) *Long Term Assignment rate of pay: $190.00 a day ($198.00 in Early Learning Center only) Retired Orchard Farm School District Teacher: Rate of pay: $200.00 a day ($208.00 a day in Early Learning Center only) Rate of pay after 10 days: $210.00 a day ($218.00 a day in Early Learning Center only) *Long Term Assignment rate of pay: $240.00 a day ($248.00 in Early Learning Center only) *Long Term Assignments are available throughout the year by submitting your application. Long Term Assignment pay begins on the first day of consecutive assignment. Substitute Teachers are always needed in the district, therefore, applications are ongoing and reviewed bi-weekly by Human Resources. Candidates selected will be contacted by email.
