SummaryTo support school-wide implementation of best instructional
practices through job embedded professional development, classroom
observations and interactions with teaching staff. Serves as a
mentor to teaching staff. What You Will Do1. Provide professional
development and leadership to Teachers/LTAs on ULS, Embrace, and
other instructional software and programs 2. Identify needs and
make recommendations for appropriate resource materials for student
differentiation. 3. Support the collection, analysis, and reporting
of data 4. Work collaboratively with Hope Support Services 5.
Research and disseminate professional and best special education
practices 6. Meet regularly with certified teaching staff to mentor
and support 7. Meet weekly with the principal to report on
progress, plan next steps, discuss improvement efforts to meet the
diverse needs of students and teachers 8. Network with other
leaders in developing, implementing, and researching best practices
in special education. 9. Actively participate in key school-wide
decision-making by regularly collaborating with the school
leadership team 10.Evaluate student achievement and assist with
placing students in appropriate interventions and/or support
services. 11.Improve student and teacher performance in identified
targeted areas 12.Promote a positive and collaborative school
culture 13.Support the IEP Coordinator in the implementation and
tracking of AAC devices14.Attend IEP meetings as requested 15.
Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents
of alleged abuse and neglect of individuals served by Hope, as
outlined in the agency's policies and procedures. 16. Provides
support and consultation to Principal, Assistant Principal, and
Director of Special Education as needed. 17. Provides direct
communication to Learning Academy certified teaching staff in areas
related to resource room, instructional materials and training. 18.
Performs all other duties as assigned. Training, Academic and
Experiential What You Will Bring1. Valid Illinois Professional
Educator's License with LBS1 endorsement 2. Minimum 5 years of
successful classroom teaching experience in special education 3.
Effective leadership, communication and presentation skills with
prior experiences working collaboratively with adults 4. In depth
knowledge of current, scientifically-based reading instruction
(SBRI), student-centered learning and data analysis 5. Ability to
plan, implement and evaluate instructional programs 6. Strong
interpersonal skills. 7. Strong organizational skills 8. Use
discreet judgment and hold confidential matters 9. Knowledge of
computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 10.Proven
ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues,
including the ability to create and nurture a professional
community of adult learners.11.Successful background clearance,
physical, and drug/alcohol screening and the ability to meet all
licensing standards of the Department of Human Services and the
