Special Education TeacherHope Learning Academy in Springfield, IL is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to develop and implement assessment-based IEP goals, objectives, and education routines that provide a functional age-appropriate curriculum for the students. The teacher will prepare lesson plans based up on the students' IEP goals and objectives and shall provide educational instruction to students as well as guidance and direction to educational specialist. We are offering a sign-on commitment bonus for special education teachers.3 Year Commitment receives a $5,000 sign-on bonus5 Year Commitment receives a $10,000 sign-on bonus Sp. Ed. Teacher Job Duties:Prepare assessments and present levels of performance for IEP meetings and participate in development of appropriate IEP goals for students.Develop and implement educational activities and programs in accordance with IEP goals, ensuring educational activates and programs are functional and age appropriate to promote achievement of each student's IEP goals.Train, supervise, and evaluate classroom lead teacher aide and education specialists.Maintain current classroom information book, student program books, lesson plans, student's files, and emergency packets.Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding students' educational progress, programs, and activities.Model appropriate behavior to students (manner of speech, appropriate dress, etc.); treat youth with dignity and respect.Report behavioral signs of illness, pain, injury, discomfort or any deviation from normal behavior to the appropriate person. Minimum Qualifications:Must hold valid Illinois teaching certificate.Must maintain a valid Illinois driver's license.Ability to meet all licensing standards of the Department of Human Services and the Department of Child and Family Services. Preferred Qualifications:3+ years experience as a Special Education Classroom Teacher.Previous supervisory experience.Good interpersonal skills.
