The company specializes in the placement of smelter-ready materials catering to commercial, industrial, dealer, and government organizations nationwide.The Interco recycling facilities are separated into three departments: nonferrous metals, computers and electronics, and battery processing. The nonferrous facility is located on the 40-acre main campus in Madison (IL) while the computers and electronics are processed in Edwardsville where the Administrative and some logistics offices are located. The commercial department is located on The Hill in St. Louis.The patent-pending 22-acre 225,000 sqft Critical Mineral Recovery Lithium-ion battery processing plant in Fredericktown, Missouri is scheduled to open in Q2 2023

Job DescriptionThe Senior Financial Accountant works with the finance and accounting department in maintaining control systems and managing company financial records. The right candidate will work to maintain the company's accounting and financial processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices.The right candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision, adhere to strict timelines, and perform under pressure.Responsibilities will includeAssist with Accounts Receivable, including posting payments, invoicing, collections, customer communicationsAssist with Accounts Payable, as neededPlanning and ForecastingAssist with settlements and shipments, including tracking advice of receipts, review of assays, and issuance of final invoicesSupport timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accountsWork with Controller and Assistant Controller on ad hoc projects as neededQualificationsBachelor's in accounting or another related degree; advanced degree a plus3-5 years' progressive accounting experienceFamiliarity with supply chain, warehouse or manufacturing environments preferredAdvanced MS Excel skills; proficient in MS OfficeExperience with QuickBooks strongly preferredProactive, highly organized, and results-oriented in a fast-moving environmentMust be able to work independently with minimal directionTakes initiative, is a self-starter and is proficient at establishing internal relationshipExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenAdditional InformationCompensation:Salary $70,000-$95,000 based on experience and qualifications100% Company-paid Medical, Dental, Vision100% Company-paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term DisabilityCompany paid $25K life insurance policyAdditional Paid vacation Christmas Eve through New Year's Day in addition to regular paid vacation401(k) with generous company match after one yearAs a matter of company policy, we do not sponsor employment visas or hire from out of the USA nor do we sponsor candidates who do not currently reside within the USA without an existing H-1B visa.This job description is designed to provide a general overview of the requirements of the job and does not entail a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties or responsibilities that will be required.
