state Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have
Skills/Experience: 1 year of Med Surg experience in an inpatient
setting Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide
patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the
provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of
care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care
in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and
confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and
responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission and values.
Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups
including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary
departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within
the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established
guidelines of nursing practice. Meets unit-specific physical
demands and requirements. Requires a significant amount of bending,
stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance. May be
required to work differing schedules, shifts, and days of the week
according to patient care requirements. High risk exposure to blood
and body fluids necessitates adherence to safety protocols.
Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50
lbs., with minimal kneeling and crouching. Provides patient care
for individuals post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical
comorbidities. Maintains accountability for the effectiveness of
patient care. Coordinates patient care in collaboration with other
departments. Demonstrates a commitment to patient rights and
confidentiality. Performs responsibilities in alignment with
